Friday pairings and tee times for 2014 Ryder Cup

Here we sit on the eve of the 2014 Ryder Cup with the United States trying to stop a two Cup losing streak. In fact, the United States has won just two of the nine Ryder Cups since 1995. On top of that, the 2012 “Meltdown at Medinah” is still fresh on the minds of American golf fans and players alike.

2014 U.S. captain Tom Watson hopes to change all of that.
The morning pairings for the fourball (best ball) matches were selected on Thursday morning. The pairings for Friday afternoon’s foursomes (alternate shot) matches will be made once the fourball morning session concludes.
Each of these matches are worth one point towards the Ryder Cup standings for this year, which will conclude on Sunday.
The 2014 Ryder Cup is being held at the Gleneagles Resort in Scotland. Here are the tee times and pairings for Friday morning’s matches:
All times are listed in Eastern time.
2:35 am: Webb Simpson and Bubba Watson vs. Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson
2:50 am: Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker vs. Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer
3:05 am: Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed vs. Stephen Gallacher and Ian Poulter
3:20 am: Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson vs. Sergio Garcia and Rory McIlroy
The Foursome start times will be a 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, and 9 am Eastern.
Those of you golf addicts on this side of the pond will have to sacrifice some beauty sleep if you want to catch the two-on-two best ball part live!
On Saturday there is again a fourball and foursome tournament in the afternoon and evening, each worth one point. The Ryder Cup concludes with 12 singles matches, each worth a point, on Sunday. The team with the most points out of the 28 possible wins the match.
