As we now sit four weeks into the college football season, nearly every team in America is now gearing up for the long haul of their conference schedule. With most of the cupcake games out-of-the-way, now is the time when the Heisman hopefuls start to separate themselves from the pack.

After four weeks of action, we now have a clearer look as to how things are shaping up with the latest Heisman Pundit Straw Poll. Also, for the first time in a matter of weeks, there has been some shuffling amongst the rankings. Check them out:
The HeismanPundit.com Heisman Straw Poll, 9/23/2014
Total Points (with first place votes in parentheses)
1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon — 24 (6)
2.Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama — 12 (2)
3. Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia — 9 (2)
4. Kenny Hill, QB, Texas A&M — 4
5. (tie) Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska — 3
Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State — 3
7. (tie) Shane Carden, QB, East Carolina — 2
Taysom Hill, QB, BYU — 2
9. James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh — 1
Marcus Mariota continues to stand firm at the top of the poll. Despite last weeks win over Washington State being ugly, the Ducks cruised on offense and Mariota was once again the leader of it all.
Making the most significant jump however, was Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper. Hopping Georgia running back Toddy Gurley, Cooper is at his highest position of the season.
Look for the rankings to continue to change this week as matchups play out. I still fully expect Mariota to remain on top despite the bye week for the Ducks.
