I mean, this shouldn’t be a shock. BUT STILL.
To put that in perspective, I sat at a hockey game once with only 25 other one-time media members. I’m trying to figure out exactly where they put everyone. Are people reporting from their spot behind the concession stands? I just don’t know. Must investigate.

Of course, those 250+ media-credentialed reporters are joined by thousands of others sitting at home, in bars and at their news desks across the country, watching as Derek Jeter plays in his last game at Yankee Stadium.
It should be interesting to see how many media credentials get handed out by the Boston Red Sox, as Jeter’s “Fenway Finale” will be this Sunday. As a Red Sox fan who has literally been alive for not much longer than the span of Jeter’s career, I would sell a significant number of my limbs to get one of those press passes–and I’m sure I’m not alone.
Cry on, God. We’re all going to miss seeing Jeter in the pinstripes, too.
