There are still a lot of Arkansas Razorbacks fans that believe second-year head coach Bret Bielema will get this team where they need to be, back up near the top of the SEC. Now, while patience is not really something that a lot of SEC fans are noted for, that’s what they’re going to have to have in Fayetteville.

While it would be great if this team could challenge the likes of Texas A&M, Alabama and LSU in the SEC West, the fact of the matter is that Bielema doesn’t believe the team has turned that corner just yet.

But they’re about to.

“For us to get a complete picture of what we can be, we need at least one more recruiting class and another year of development in our program,” Bielema said. “But we’re getting closer.”

You could see the flashes of what this team could be, and that was clearly evident in their win last weekend over Texas Tech in which the Hogs physically abused the Red Raiders on the ground. Of course, the Texas Tech defense is not the most stable unit in the country, but it was impressive nonetheless.

There is a plan in place by Bielema, whether people like him or not, to get this program back to prominence in the toughest conference in the game. With that upcoming recruiting class that he speaks of, coupled with his penchant for developing players, they could very well be there soon.
