Friday usually means the end of the work week and happy thoughts of the weekend ahead. However, for Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, this Friday is one he’s likely to never forget.
According to a local report, Stafford may not be making it in to work on time today — and we all know how NFL head coaches love players showing up late to work.
The reason for Stafford’s presence being in doubt? Traffic that is a result of a bridge collapsing.
Per @FOX2News, #Lions QB Matt Stafford was among motorists stranded on Southfield Freeway this morning when a pedestrian bridge collapsed.

Detroit faces the New York Jets at 1pm ET on Sunday, and have to make a flight out to New Jersey later today.

UPDATE: The good news is that local reports also indicate that Stafford didn’t actually see the bridge collapse and was able to hitch a ride to practice.
Stafford was unharmed and didn't see bridge collapse. He got a ride to #Lions Allen Park practice facility.

There is no word on if he was on time or not though.
