While the Arizona State Sun Devils were getting trounced on the field, at least they could take some solace in the fact that they were having a good day on the recruiting trail, right?

At least the Sun Devils could spin it that way after getting a verbal commitment from 4-star athlete Jaason Lewis. The 6’3″, 233-pound athlete out of Virginia Beach (Ocean Lakes), Va. chose ASU over the likes of Tennessee, UCLA, LSU and others.

With his size and speed, he’s a rare player for his age and one that has ASU intrigued on the offensive end of the field.

According to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, Lewis has been told he will be used on offense by the Sun Devils.

“Coach (Todd) Graham told me how they would use me,” Lewis said. “He said I would play running back and receiver in their offense. That they play three or four backs every game. They would move me around. That’s the type of player I am and how I want to be used.”

Lewis is the No. 209-ranked player by the 247Sports composite rankings, while also being the No. 17-ranked athlete and No. 9-ranked player out of the state of Virginia.

His commitment makes 12 for Arizona State in the 2015 class, with the Sun Devils having the No. 42-ranked class in the nation and the No. 6-ranked class in the Pac-12 conference.
