Ohio State loses freshman WR Johnnie Dixon for the year
Apparently 2014 is a bad year to be a freshman football player for the Ohio State Buckeyes. OSU had already lost three freshmen to season-ending injuries after just four weeks of play.

Make that four now, as wide receiver Johnnie Dixon is out with a pair of season-ending knee surgeries coming up, according to Doug Lesmerises of Cleveland.com.
The good news is that Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes expect to have him back in time for spring practices.
“He’s so talented,” Meyer said, via Cleveland.com “but he’s been hurt really since his junior year of high school. We’re expecting him to be fresh and ready to go for spring practice.”
Dixon appeared to have an advantage on some of the other freshmen for Ohio State, being one of four players to enroll early. However, he didn’t get to see the field until the 66-0 blowout win over Kent State.
He made the most of that appearance, catching four passes for 20 yards while the starters got rest quickly in that game.
Dixon joins three other players from his 23-man class to go down to season-ending injury. Linebacker Kyle Berger tore an ACL before the start of the season, defensive lineman Dylan Thompson had his own knee issue and surgery ended his season before it got going and persistent hamstring issues took cornerback Marshon Lattimore off the field for the rest of the season.
It leaves very few freshman contributors for Ohio State this season, as all four of those players were expected to rotates in as the season went along.
