The Auburn Tigers defense gets overshadowed by the high-powered offense on The Plains, but there are a few talented defenders on that unit, most notably defensive lineman Montravius Adams.

More from College Football

Adams was one of the two high-ranked defensive line recruits two seasons ago along with Carl Lawson, but with Lawson likely out for the year with a torn ACL suffered in the offseason, Adams has been forced to pick up the slack.

The former five-star recruit is doing just that against Louisiana Tech as he recorded an interception on a pass from Cody Sokol and nearly ran it back to the house for a pick-six.

The 6-4, 306-pound lineman ran it back 36 yards to the five-yard line where running back Cameron Artis-Payne scored on the first play to give Auburn a 7-0 lead over the Bulldogs.

You gotta love it when the big guys get their hands on the ball and get a chance to run in the open field. Had Adams taken it all the way to the house, it would have been one of the top plays of the week, it still may be after he streaked down the left sideline.
