The Florida State Seminoles escaped a close game last week against the Clemson Tigers without quarterback Jameis Winston last week and they escaped a close game with him this week. The NC State Wolfpack didn’t seemingly present a huge threat to the Seminoles but they were being pegged by some as a possible trap game.

NC State lived up to their trap game potential and gave the Noles a serious run for their money. Florida State eventually pulled things out in the end, but not before fans across Tallahassee shook with fear.

Jameis Winston was both a problem and a solution for Florida State on Saturday afternoon, as he went for over 350 yards and tossed four touchdowns but had a pair of interceptions that kept giving the Wolfpack hope they were looking for. In the end, Winston was more of a solution than he was a problem but he didn’t have a perfect game and will likely hear about it all week.

At the end of the day though, the Noles walked out of Raleigh with the win but they did so by the skin of their teeth. A win is a win, but in college football it can sometimes be as good as a loss. The win column as Florida State down as perfect, but the polls may speak differently now that the Noles have played two close games.

Winston has been a headline grabbing distraction to some fans this year and these two close games in a row, coupled with the other close calls that have occurred this season may end up hurting Florida State in the end, despite their consistency in pulling out of jams.
