During a 31-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns last season, Green Bay Packers’ tight end Jermichael Finley suffered a very scary neck injury. Any time you’re dealing with a player’s neck, it is obviously a very scary situation. Finley, however, was said to be eyeing a return to the NFL.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Finley still wants to play.
"Finley still wants to play. He has never backed down from that statement and reiterated it in a text message to me this past week. But the fact remains that the Packers have not cleared him. He met with team physician Pat McKenzie over the summer but nothing changed in his status. As far as the Packers go, it may never change."
Finley clearly isn’t completely healthy after his injury. If he were, the talented tight end would have already been signed.
The New England Patriots had Finley in for a visit and were interested in signing either Finley or former New York Jets’ and Miami Dolphins’ tight end Dustin Keller, but they have since traded for Tim Wright. He also took a visit to check out the New York Giants. The Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers also showed interest in bringing Finley in. His preference appears to be a return to the Packers.
Finley had 25 receptions for 300 yards and three touchdowns before suffering he was injured. He has 223 catches for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns in his career.
