San Antonio Spurs’ big man Tim Duncan will probably go down as the best power forward to ever play the game – he’s been named NBA MVP twice, NBA Finals MVP three times and has led the Spurs to five NBA title. However, there is one thing he hasn’t done – won back-to-back titles. That’s why Duncan decided to return for the 2014-2015 season.

“There was some hesitation there,” said Duncan, who had an option at roughly $10.4 million on the final year of his latest deal via Dan McCarney of The San Antonio Express News. “But it came back to maybe being able to do (win the title) again. As long as I’m feeling I can, and I feel good about it, this is where I want to be.”
Duncan is excited about the challenge.
“I feel good,” he said. “I had a good summer of work and I think I’m in pretty decent shape conditioning-wise. I look forward to getting out and playing more basketball.”
Duncan has averaged 15.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 49.0% from the field and 73.1% from the free throw line during the regular season then 16.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 52.3% from the field and 76.0% from the free throw line. In his 17-year NBA career, the number one overall pick of the 1997 NBA Draft has put up 19.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 50.6% from the field and 69.4% from the charity stripe.
