After a slow start to the season, Real Madrid has been finding their groove and Los Blancos continued to carry that momentum on Saturday afternoon.
When the final whistle blew, Real Madrid was too much for Villareal as they went on to earn the 2-0 win .
The scoring got underway in the 32nd minute, when Luka Modric took a pass from Toni Kroos and fired the ball from outside of the box to beat Sergio Asenjo to the bottom left corner. It was the first La Liga goal for Modric and a fine strike at that. Asenjo seemed to be confused by the shot and never had a chance to make the save.
Just eight minutes later, Real Madrid extended their lead to 2-0.
Cristiano Ronaldo was waiting in the center of the box following a beautiful run from Karim Benzema. Benzema dropped the ball back to Ronaldo who finished with his tenth goal of the season. The goal extended Ronaldo’s scoring streak to six games.

Los Blancos carried the 2-0 lead over El Submarino Amarillo into the half.
After both sides went back and forth in the opening moments of the second half, Villareal brought Mexican international Giovani dos Santos onto the pitch in the 64th minute looking for a spark. Three minutes later, El Submarino Amarillo brought in Giovani’s brother, Jonathan dos Santos.
