To the joy of fantasy football players everywhere, superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson suited up and took the field for the Detroit Lions on Sunday despite a lingering ankle injury.

To the dismay of those same fantasy football players, Johnson clearly isn’t himself. Granted, the man known as Megatron does not need many chances to make an impact play, even if he is not quite 100%. But as things have gone in the first half, it sounds like Johnson is just having trouble staying on the field at all.

The Lions might be doing this proactively to try and prevent further issues with the ankle. They might be slowing down because Johnson aggravated the injury. That is not clear, but what is clear is that Johnson is still limited by the injury.

Johnson might be little more than a decoy in this game or he might get limited targets in key situations. Either way, it is clear that the Detroit offense will not run through the star wide receiver like it normally does.
