For the first time in nearly two seasons, Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose is healthy. At least, that’s what he says and understandably the Bulls are going to take their superstar at his word.

That doesn’t mean they’re going to throw Rose into the fire though as it’s expected the Chicago Bulls will play the former NBA MVP about 30 minutes per game this season. That’s the word from K.C. Johnson who suspects Chicago will be mildly conservative with the former Memphis star.

"Rose opened last season logging around 30 minutes per game. Look for a similarly conservative start."

It appears as if Johnson’s suggestion of Derrick Rose playing 30 minutes per game is more of a baseline to start the season. You’d have to think that Rose’s floor time could increase if he’s to get through December without any injury or health issues, though again you certainly don’t want to push your star player too much so the Chicago Bulls will understandably be careful.

It’s expected the Chicago Bulls will see how Derrick Rose reacts to training camp but as of right now it’s expected that he’ll play in most back-t0-back games as well, though could take the occasional game off for rest purpose.

Rest or not, Chicago Bulls fans are just happy to have their former MVP back on the court. Hopefully he hasn’t lost a step and returns to form.
