Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson will play vs Jets

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was held out of practice for a majority of the week because of an ankle injury, before returning to practice on a limited basis on Friday.

The injury and lack of preparation led to some speculation about whether or not Johnson would be able to take the field in Week 4 against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford and on Sunday morning we got our answer.

After the Lions’ official website passed along the note that Johnson returning to practice on Friday was “a good sign he’s trending toward playing on Sunday,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Johnson will be active for today’s game.
With the struggles that the New York Jets secondary has had this season, Johnson could be in for a big day.
