Although the Golden State Warriors toyed with the idea of bringing back big man Jermaine O’Neal this offseason, no deal was struck.

Much of that was likely due to the fact that Jermaine O’Neal isn’t healthy and continues to decline in skill. That says something considering how badly the Golden State Warriors need a backup center, alas, if Jermaine O’Neal is to return to the NBA he’ll be doing so elsewhere.
Aware of such, the veteran big man decided to purchase a full page ad in a local Bay Area newspaper where he thanked the Golden State Warriors and their fans.

It’s a little odd to see a player thank an organization after spending just one season with the franchise though it’s certainly welcomed and a very nice gesture on behalf of Jermaine O’Neal.
The former first-round pick (who was one of the few high school draftee’s to emerge as an All-Star at the NBA level) is still said to be looking for work though it may take some time before O’Neal signs a contract. Multiple teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat have expressed interest in signing Jermaine O’Neal though want the veteran to prove that he’s healthy before making such a commitment.
