Josh Brent has suspension modified, can join Dallas Cowboys
By Hayden Kane
Dallas Cowboys’ defensive tackle Josh Brent is currently serving a 10-game suspension for his role in an accident in 2012 that took the life of teammate Jerry Brown. That ban previously meant that Brent could not have contact with the Cowboys, but that condition is reportedly set to change.

The terms of Brent’s suspension will be modified so that he can join his Cowboys’ teammates, according to an ESPN Dallas report from Todd Archer:
"Brent and the NFL agreed to a modified suspension on Friday in which he will still miss the first 10 games of the season, but he will be allowed to work out and take part in meetings with the Cowboys two weeks earlier than the original conditions of the suspension as well as other concessions……Brent will be allowed to begin practicing in Week 9 and will be allowed to travel to London with the team on Nov. 3 as the Cowboys prepare for their Nov. 9 meeting against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. Initially, he was not allowed to travel with the team until he was cleared to play."
Brent was sentenced to 180 days in jail for the incident after he was convicted of intoxication manslaughter. That is obviously a difficult and sad situation, but this feels like the right call that Brent can be with the team while he serves the remainder of this suspension.
Brent spent the last 45 days of his sentence in a treatment facility, so hopefully the chance to train with the team during his suspension will help him as he continues to get his life on track.
