The San Francisco 49ers added veteran wide receiver Stevie Johnson to an already crowded group in order to give quarterback Colin Kaepernick more weapons to work with.

There might not be a lot of work for Johnson on a week to week basis, but the 49ers are counting on him to come through when they call his number. In the midst of a tight game against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 4, Johnson did just that with an impressive touchdown grab along the sideline.
This is an incredible display of concentration as Johnson reaches up to make the catch and gets his feet in.

Given the holes on their defense to start the season and possibly in a more general sense, the 49ers might find themselves having to throw the ball more than they are used to. If they do, they will count on their core group of veteran targets to make life easier for Kaepernick.
