The Carolina Panthers are trying to find their footing this season as it’s been an up and down start to say the least. after starting out 2-0 with wins over the Buccaneers and Lions, Carolina has dropped two straight games to AFC North opponents and are looking at a 2-3 start to their season.

Carolina’s record is still even but they’re in danger of falling down a slippery slope of losing. Cam Newton looks only alright at the moment and his running game behind him is hardly helping him open up the offense. One of the reasons for the struggles is thanks to injury, as DeAngelo Williams is banged up and may miss some serious time in the near future.

According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Panthers may be without DeAngelo Williams moving forward as his sprained ankle could cause him to miss Week 5 against the Bears.

Losing Williams means that the Panthers will have to lean on oft-injured Jonathan Stewart to help lead the running game along with Mike Tolbert. It’s not that the Panthers live and die by the run game but they really have no other established part of the offense.

Williams isn’t for sure going to miss time, but that’s the way it looks and Carolina will be left picking up the pieces if his loss means a 2-3 start to the season.
