Denver Nuggets want Peyton Manning to teach Ty Lawson
By Bryan Rose
While Ty Lawson is an All-Star level point guard, the Denver Nuggets want more from their veteran. His numbers are fine but head coach Brian Shaw wants Lawson to become more of a leader.

Shaw can bark at Lawson until he’s blue in the face about how to become a better leader, but why not show him? That’s the thought of the Denver Nuggets coach who stated he wants to take Ty Lawson to a Denver Broncos practice in effort to watch how Peyton Manning leads on the football field.
While the idea might seem a little strange on the surface it’s actually a really good idea. Many people often compare the point guard position in the NBA to that of a quarterback in the NFL and there’s nobody better in the league at reading defenses and leading his team than Peyton Manning who is in Lawson’s backyard.
It’s not known if Shaw has shared this idea with Ty Lawson yet though you’d have to think the Denver Nuggets point guard would be more than receptive of it.
Despite the difference in sport, picking up pointers from Peyton Manning would be an excellent teaching tool.
