The perils of Michigan Wolverines football this year have been well documented, and many have been speculating about whether or not the Wolverines will be looking for a new coach when the off season rolls around in Ann Arbor.

Of the many names that have been floated out as a possibility to take over at the helm, the biggest name has been Niners head coach Jim Harbaugh. However, it was floated out over the weekend that the school would actually prefer the other Harbaugh brother who currently resides on the Baltimore Ravens sideline.

John Harbaugh went to high school and grew up near Ann Arbor while his father was on the Michigan staff, but the Baltimore Sun is reporting that Harbaugh has no interest in the Michigan job. The Sun reports Harbaugh is happy in his current job and with the Ravens off to a 3-1 start it’s hard to blame him.

John Harbaugh has a contract in place until 2017 with the Ravens and after this report you can cross him off of the short list of potential replacement should Brady Hoke wind up getting fired after this season. His brother Jim on the other hand, is still the hottest name when discussing the potential job opening and with friction building with the Niners over the past few years his name will remain at the top of the list for as long as he wants it to be.

Now we will have to wait and see whether or not there will an opening, and whether Jim makes the jump back to the college ranks.
