When the NFL scheduled the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots for tonight’s Monday Night Football game, they were probably expecting two teams that looked like they were just in the playoffs last season.

- Chiefs gamble at wide receiver could already be biting them back
- Clark Hunt throws cold water on potential Chiefs throwbacks
- Patrick Mahomes explains why Chiefs aren’t a dynasty and what it’ll take to be one

Add that to the list of thing the league has gotten wrong.
Both offenses have struggled, though their respective defenses have been keeping them in games.
It should come as no surprise, then, that this game was tied at zero until 2:24 left in the first quarter when Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles capped off an 11-play drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Kansas City has a 7-0 lead going into the second quarter. Charles has seven carries for 38 yards and a touchdown.
