Milwaukee Brewers rumors: Francisco Rodriguez wants to pitch for Brewers in 2015
By Hayden Kane
The Milwaukee Brewers had a lot of things go wrong as the 2014 season rolled along to its conclusion. One thing that went right, however, was the work of Francisco Rodriguez as the team’s closer.

After a couple tumultuous seasons in which he kicked around the league and went through his ups and downs, Rodriguez appeared to settle in with the Brewers. As such, the man known as “K-Rod” would like to be back in Milwaukee’s bullpen next season.
Per Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
"He said without question he plans on continuing his career, although he’s been around long enough to know there are no guarantees it will be in a Brewer uniform.“That’s a good question, man,” he said. “The past two weeks I’ve been discussing that with my family, thinking what is going to happen? It is in doubt where I’m going to be at.“I definitely know where I want to be. I want to be here. But it is not my decision. There are a lot of things the front office has to do over the course of the winter. They know how I feel. My heart is going to always be here."
The Brewers already have Jeremy Jeffress and the recently acquired Jonathan Broxton for their bullpen, so they may or may not see a need in the closer’s role. If they do, however, they will have an interested free agent target in Rodriguez.
Rodriguez converted 44 saves this season and struck out hitters at a 9.7 K/9 clip. Whether for the Brewers or for another team, he will still be a useful reliever next season.
