While Carmelo Anthony has routinely been a top forward in the NBA, sharing the ball hasn’t always been a strength of his. Part of that can be attributed to a lack of talent around him, but in the past Melo’s game didn’t exactly reflect somebody that liked to share the ball, especially during his tenure with the New York Knicks.

That could be changing though as Carmelo Anthony has already stated a desire to be a better all-around player in the Knicks’ new triangle offense. Might that include playing the point guard position? It’s something New York Knicks president Phil Jackson won’t discount as he believes Carmelo Anthony will eventually be able to play every position on the floor thanks to the triangle.

"But eventually, Phil Jackson says Carmelo should be able to play all positions on the floor — including in the backcourt.“He will be, I think, quite comfortable in the position he is at on the floor,” Jackson said on Friday."

Of course the triangle offense is a bit unique in how positions break down, so it’s not as if you’ll see Carmelo Anthony emulating John Stockton as he’d just be expected to bring the ball up the court and pass into the post. That’s something Melo could likely already do though he’ll need to fine tune his craft to be a reliable asset out of the backcourt.

Wonder if Phil Jackson thinks Carmelo Anthony could play center for the New York Knicks?
