Photoshop is headed to Chromebooks

If you’ve ever looked for elite image editing software, it is nearly 100% certain that you have used Adobe Photoshop. While the software has been on multiple platforms for a long time, it will now be making its way to the increasingly popular Google Chromebook.

Google, the producer of the Chromebook, has continued to integrate its product into schools and classrooms. With the latest announcement, the computer device looks even more appealing.

Chromebooks will access Photoshop through Project Photoshop Streaming, in which Google will host Photoshop entirely through the cloud.

Google said in a blog post, “This streaming version of Photoshop is designed to run straight from the cloud to your Chromebook. It’s always up-to-date and fully integrated with Google Drive, so there’s no need to download and re-upload files—just save your art directly from Photoshop to the cloud.”

The low cost, computer option that is the Chromebook, has grown increasingly popular with schools. They are able to be much more affordably ordered, and offered at a lower cost.

With Google ramping up efforts to increasingly make the Chromebook more enticing, the software surrounding the device has also expanded. Not utilizing a disc drive, the device has to utilize cloud based technology, and thus far has done an exceptional job of doing so.

Although I am not a Chromebook owner, they are something I would consider to be a step above a tablet, and a very smart purchase decision for educational institutions.
