The Chiefs dominated the Patriots on both sides of the ball all night in Monday night’s game. In so doing, Kansas City notched an impressive victory and set themselves up for an intriguing week 5 showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals.
On the offensive side of the ball, Kansas City benefited from the return of star running back Jamaal Charles. All Charles did in this game was pitch in three touchdowns. Even still, the Chiefs are always on the look for another weapon on offense, the lack of which has hurt them from time to time.
They might have an emerging weapon on their hands in big tight end Travis Kelce, who had a nice game on Monday night, including this short touchdown from Alex Smith.
For the night, Kelce caught eight passes on a team-high nine targets for 93 yards and a touchdown. It looks like he is a tight end who won’t be used like a tight end, adding an interesting wrinkle to the Kansas City offense.
