The Arizona Sun Devils lost their first game of the season last Thursday when they fell to Pac-12 south foe UCLA after they forced to play without starting quarterback Taylor Kelly who was injured in the previous week’s win against the Colorado Buffaloes.

Arizona State will look to avoid a second straight defeat on Saturday when they take on the USC Trojans in the Coliseum, but they will have to so without Kelly who won’t be healthy in time for the Oct. 4 game for the Sun Devils.
Mike Bercovici will make his second straight start for Arizona State after he threw for 488 yards and three touchdowns on 42-of-68 passing, but he lost a fumble and threw two interceptions, including one returned 95 yards in the final seconds of the first half that served as the momentum shift the Bruins needed.
ASU coach Todd Graham said as of now, the Sun Devils expect injured QB Taylor Kelly back for Oct. 18 game vs Stanford.

UCLA outscored Arizona State 35-10 after that interception, so Bercovici will have to make better decisions and avoid those costly turnovers as he gets at least one more start in place of Kelly who is expected back for the Oct. 18 home game against the Stanford Cardinal.
That will be four and a half weeks since Kelly originally injured his foot, but will it be too late for the Sun Devils to make some noise in the Pac-12 south and make it back to the Pac-12 Championship Game?
