Malcolm Jenkins has been a revelation for the Philadelphia Eagles since his arrival in the summer of 2014. In his first four games as an Eagle, Jenkins already has more interceptions than he did in any one season as a member of the New Orleans Saints. That start to the season prompted one of the game’s best defensive backs ever to laud Jenkins as one of the best defensive backs today.

“We don’t talk about [Malcolm] Jenkins a lot, but he’s one of the best safeties in the game,” Sanders said on NFL Network. Jenkins returned an interception for a touchdown in the team’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, which was his third TD of his career.

Jenkins spent the first five years of his career with the New Orleans Saints before defecting to Philadelphia as a free agent this past summer to aid an Eagles defense that needed help against the pass. He’s been an instant success in that department, aiding the Eagles as they started the season on a three-game winning streak.

Now Jenkins and the Eagles are hoping to continue to draw praise from legends like Sanders as they move through a deep, competitive NFC.
