Up until now the Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards didn’t have much of a rivalry though that could soon change.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

On Monday, Bradley Beal of the Washingon Wizards proclaimed that he and John Wall make up the best backcourt tandem in the league. The sentiment wasn’t completely out of left field though there’s an argument to be made for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors. Apparently, Dion Waiters of the Cavs also thinks he and Kyrie Irving are in the discussion as well.

While Beal’s suggestion isn’t outlandish Dion Waiters does have a point regarding the Cleveland Cavaliers backcourt. Many would suggest that Kyrie Irving is the better player between he and John Wall (or at least more efficient) while Waiters and Beal are a bit of a toss-up at this point of their career.

Needless to say nobody is going to run away with the title of having the best backcourt in the NBA, though it does appear as if the Cleveland Cavaliers may have the best team out of all those mentioned.

It doesn’t sound like the back-and-forth between the Cavaliers and Wizards will achieve the same level as the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks, though a few more verbal shots wouldn’t be the worst thing.
