Tony Sparano named Oakland Raiders interim head coach
The Oakland Raiders just can’t keep head coaches, it’s like a curse. Dennis Allen was fired after this past Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins as his 0-4 start could no longer be tolerated.

According to ESPN NFL reporter Jim Trotter, Oakland Raiders assistant head coach and offensive line coach Tony Sparano will be named interim head coach of the team in a press conference scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
Fox Sports NFL reporter Jay Glazer tweeted earlier Tuesday that the team held a meeting and then Sparano held a meeting of his own with the team, but no official announcements have been made.
Sparano was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2008-2011 where he posted a 29-32 head coaching record. We’ll see if he can help an 0-4 struggling Raiders team that will get a much needed bye week next Sunday before hosting the San Diego Chargers Oct. 12.
