By Bryan Rose
It’s not often that a player, especially a quarterback will lose his starting job to injury but that’s exactly what has happened to Shaun Hill who has been replaced by Austin Davis.

While the St. Louis Rams suggested that Hill would get his job back once he returned from his thigh injury, Davis has shown some impressive ability and that was enough for Jeff Fisher to name him the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.
In addition Fisher added that there will be quick benching of Davis if he struggles, a sign that there is a permanent changing of the guard at the quarterback position.
While the St. Louis Rams may have preferred to give Austin Davis a bit more time to learn the game from the sidelines the injury forced their hand. Now that Davis is in the lineup there’s really no reason to yank him as Shaun Hill wasn’t exactly the second coming.
The biggest pressing issue for Austin Davis currently is his desire for for turning the ball over at the most inopportune of times. It’s an obvious problem that needs to be fixed though outside of that Davis has been very impressive and deserves the gig over Shaun Hill.
