Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge has been relatively candid regarding the trade rumors surrounding Rajon Rondo this offseason though has stated on more than one occasion he prefers to keep him in Beantown.

What’s to eventually happen is unknown though Ainge has certainly does a wonderful job at deflecting rumors, even going as far as to suggest he and Rajon Rondo have talked about players he’d like to add to the Boston Celtics roster.
That certainly doesn’t sound like something you’d ask a player you were looking to trade, does it?
Might this be nothing more than posturing on the part of Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics? Or do they really believe that Rajon Rondo is part of their future and have no plans to trade him?
You have to assume that where there’s smoke there’s often fire and it only makes good business sense for the Celtics to see what is availble on the target market for the pending free agent. That said, Rajon Rondo’s trade value will never be lower than its current price so Boston may be served by letting the season play out with Rondo on the roster.
Things should become more clear once Rondo returns to the court and shows if he’s healthy or not.
