First, Beal called the duo of he and John Wall the best back court in the NBA. When Waiters was told of Beal’s proclamation, he responded “That’s nonsense.” Beal then made a statement about how Waiters and point guard Kyrie Irving have never even been in the playoffs. Waiters answered by taking to twitter to post a video of him lighting up the Wizards.
According to ESPN 908 via Dan Steinberg of The Washington Post, Beal is very excited about their first match up with the Cavaliers, comparing it to a WWE event.
"“So you and Dion Waiters, you guys gonna be hanging out any time soon?” Scott Jackson asked. “What’s the story there?”“Shots fired,” Beal replied.“What do you think?” Jackson asked.“I’m just gonna say November 21, man,” Beal replied.“Are you guys trying to sell tickets, or what are you doing?” Jackson asked. “It’s great. It’s like WWE almost.”“We’re trying to amp it up a little bit,” Beal said. “Pay-per-view game, hopefully.”"
The Cavaliers and Wizards had a nice rivalry during James’ first stint with the Cavaliers. The two teams squared off in a series of epic playoff games with James and former Wizards’ guard Gilbert Arenas trading big shots.
Here’s hoping the rivalry is as good this time around.
