With Lance Stephenson now in the fold, there has been a lot of speculation on what will happen to Charlotte Hornets’ swingman Gerald Henderson. He was reportedly on the trade block on draft night and reports indicate the Hornets still may looking to deal him.

Joel Brigham of Basketball Insiders can see the Hornets shopping Henderson but doesn’t see a big return.

"Well it’s not like Gerald Henderson is untouchable, and with the signing of Lance Stephenson, the Hornets really don’t need him as badly as they did a year ago. As far as what they can get, the market is reasonable for shooting guards because there are so few of them, but Henderson isn’t elite. I’d expect him to yield a similar player, maybe a second-round pick or two. The Hornets would be better off keeping him."

Henderson has been a solid player at times but with Stephenson in the fold, he could be the odd man out. Although the Hornets are happy to have upgraded, if Henderson isn’t playing much, his value will obviously decline.

Henderson, still just 26, averaged 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season while shooting 43.3% from the floor, 34.8% from beyond the arc and 76.1% from the charity stripe.
