Green Bay Packers news: James Starks to see increased role?
By Bryan Rose
It’s been a rough few weeks for Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy who not only has questioned himself though had head coach Mike McCarthy do the same.

Now it appears as if the starting running back may lose a bit of time to backup James Starks. According to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers are hoping to run the ball a bit more during Thursday’s tilt against the Minnesota Vikings with James Starks being a beneficiary of the extra carries.
While James Starks may see a few extra carries it’s difficult to imagine the team will allow the backup to eat into many of Eddie Lacy’s carries despite his struggles.
Dunne went on to say that the Green Bay Packers are hoping to get at least 25-30 carries against the Vikings and hope to play a clock control game given Minnesota is very likely to be without starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
It’s not known if the increased role will continue beyond this week for James Starks as it’s something the Green Bay Packers will likely look at after the game.
Starks, despite some early struggles in practice, has been a monster when on the field averaging over five yards per carry this season.
