Ndamuking Suh needs a new contract this offseason, but he’s not tipping his hand as to how negotiations are going.

Lots has been made over the past few weeks of the the impending free agency of Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and where he will be playing after this season.

More from Detroit Lions

There was the report that he wanted to play in New York that surfaced after the Lions win over the Jets but Suh gave no comment. And that trend continued when Suh was asked about the report by the Detroit Free Press:

"“I cannot address that [report] just from the simple fact that I have not spoken to any reporter about it or any reporters about supposedly what has come out,” Suh said."

Suh decided to table talks with the Lions on a contract until after the season to avoid the distraction, and it sure sounds like that is what he is trying to avoid here as well. Whether the reports of Suh wanting to play in New York are true, it’s clear we won’t find out Suh’s intentions until after his season with Detroit.

Suh hasn’t had the smoothest few years in the league after earning a reputation for being a supposed “dirty” player, but any team that Suh decides to play for will have no problem paying him major money in free agency.
