Titans’ Bernard Pollard: I wouldn’t root for us
By Sam Richmond
The Tennessee Titans have been a disappointment to start the 2014 NFL season, winning just one of its first four games and giving up 50 more points than they’ve scored in the process.

Things have gotten so bad for the Titans that they are starting to lose support from its fans. However, Titans safety Bernard Pollard said on Thursday that he doesn’t blame the fans for losing interest because he wouldn’t root for the team, either.
From ESPN:
"Pollard, trying to fire up his teammates after a 1-3 start, said Wednesday that the Titans need to show more fight and they can’t blame the team’s fans if they don’t want to support them. If he’s “offended people,” Pollard said, he “couldn’t care less.”“We need to just show up and play. As far as saying we need the fans to show up and back us up, they’ve been backing us up since we’ve been here,” he told reporters. “You want to call them fair-weather fans and say they don’t show up, rightfully so. I wouldn’t root for this team, either, because we’re a team that comes out and shows greatness one time and then we come out and drop an egg. We can’t do that.”"
It’s an interesting attempt at motivation from Pollard. But the Titans clearly need something to pick themselves up right now and perhaps this is it.
Pollard has racked up 27 tackles so far this season. Tennessee will look to earn its second win of the season Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
