The benches cleared in Los Angeles during game 1 of the Dodgers-Cardinals series

Over the last two season, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Los Angeles Dodgers have made it clear they don’t like each other.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Last season, in game one of the NLCS, Hanley Ramirez was beaned with a pitch in the ribs and he wasn’t the same all series. So, when Yasiel Puig got beamed in Friday’s game, the Dodgers weren’t going to just stand there.

The benches cleared and after everything was settled and the game continued, the Dodgers rallied to score 2 runs in a row to take the lead. Scoring one run is hard enough off of Clayton Kershaw and now the Cardinals will need to score even more runs if they want to win this game.

Yasiel Puig has been in the middle of a lot of these benches clearing situations and during this one, both Puig and pitcher Adam Wainright walked away from the skirmish and Puig gave Wainright a friendly pat on the back. These teams genuinely hate each other. This series is going to be fun.
