Williams also missed Wednesday and Thursday with the injury, making his chances for playing Sunday slimmer and slimmer. The Bills square off in Detroit against the 3-1 Lions Sunday who have been impressive in wins against the Giants, Packers and Jets this season.
The Bills are 2-2 after going 2-0 early in the season. They defeated the Chicago Bears impressively in week one followed by a big win over the Miami Dolphins in week two. Since then, they’ve dropped games to the San Diego Chargers and the Houston Texans. In that time, head coach Doug Marrone has announced that he is benching quarterback E.J. Manuel and will start back up Kyle Orton for the first time against a skilled Detroit defense on Sunday.
The 31-year-old Williams has started all four games this season, notching 11 tackles. He also hauled in an interception in Buffalo’s Week One upset of Chicago.
Stefan Charles and Corbin Bryant are the Bills’ reserve defensive tackles if Williams is unfit to play Sunday.
