Here we will focus on the teams that are underachieving or overachieving based on the way they looked coming into the season.

Top Five Surprises:
1. Arkansas: This team was awful last year. There were people that wondering if Bret Bielema was the right man for the job. Coming into this season, there will still a lot of questions surrounding the program. Most of those have been answered now. They hung with Auburn for a half in the opener, but it was during the Texas Tech game when the Razorbacks showed what they were capable of. They pounded the Red Raiders on the ground, and used the same game plan to put the Aggies on the ropes before letting it slip away in the fourth quarter. This team looks like they will upset someone at some point this year. They likely will still finish last in the SEC West, but that is like finishing in the middle of the Big Ten(14). Teams that should be on upset alert against Arkansas: Georgia and Mississippi. Both games are in Fayetteville.
 2. Oklahoma State: The Cowboys were supposed to be rebuilding because they lost several pieces on offense and defense. Instead, they took the defending National Champs to the wire, and beat Texas Tech, though that doesn’t mean what it once did.
3. Arizona: Teams with a true freshman starting at quarterback aren’t supposed to be good. Anu Solomon is for real, and the only game where he really struggled was in his first road game in San Antonio. The Arizona defense will allow it’s share of points, but this offense is plenty good enough to get them back.
4. Texas A&M: Replacing Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans was supposed to be hard, but that is not the case. The Aggies look more like a team than they did at any point last year. Their schedule is brutal, but that comes with playing in the SEC West and drawing South Carolina from the east. This team will go as far as the defense takes them. The offense is fine.
5. Kentucky: It took Florida three overtimes to beat them, and they won their first conference game in three years the next week. Not bad for a team that won just two games against FBS opponents in the last two years combined. They have three already this year!
Honorable Mention: California, Maryland, Temple, Georgia Tech, Tennessee
