Patrick Towles believes Kentucky is in the mix for the SEC
The SEC is widely regarded as the toughest conference in all of college football, and has been for quite some time. So far through five weeks this season, it’s evident why this is the case when you see the depth week in and week out. But, are the Kentucky Wildcats in the mix of teams for the coveted SEC Championship?

Quarterback Patrick Towles certainly seems to think so.
In a recent interview with the Louisville Courier-Journal, Towles showed a lot of confidence in his squad by stating that he believes they’re right in the mix with everyone else at the top, vying for that conference title.
“I feel like we’re right in the middle of the SEC race right now,” he said. “We work for this moment right here. It’s going to happen at 7:30, so just go out three and let it all hang out.”
Are some people going to laugh at this? Yes, they probably are, but you have to appreciate the leadership from Patrick Towles in this case, publicly showing confidence in himself, his teammates and the coaching staff.
Now if Towles really wants to prove this statement correct, he and the Wildcats will have the perfect opportunity this weekend when they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks, one of the top teams in the SEC East.
