Kevin Towers leaves Arizona Diamondbacks organization

Kevin Towers has left the Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ front-office shakeup continued on Friday afternoon with the departure of Kevin Towers:
As Piecoro notes in his next tweet, this isn’t a shock, as fired GMs don’t usually stick around, even if the team offers them another job in the organization, like Arizona did for Towers.

Kevin Towers looked like he would be gone as soon as the Diamondbacks hired Tony La Russa to be their Chief Baseball Officer in May, a job which suspiciously sounded like “general manager” at the time. La Russa cleaned house, firing Towers and then later manager Kirk Gibson. La Russa has since hired former MLB pitcher, agent, and assistant general manager Dave Steward to become the Diamondbacks’ new GM.
Arizona hasn’t yet replaced Gibson, but is in the process of interviewing candidates, including Texas Rangers interim manager Tim Bogar, whom Piecoro says is one of 11 candidates being considered by the Diamondbacks:
Piecoro also notes that while the Diamondbacks could change their minds, they don’t plan to interview any other managerial candidates.
