Matt Carpenter’s 3-run double puts the Cardinals ahead of the Dodgers 7-6
It looked like the Los Angeles Dodgers were going to cruise to a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in game 1 of the NLDS Friday night.

Although the Cardinals got a run in on Clayton Kershaw, perhaps the game’s best pitcher, in the sixth inning, the Dodgers took a 6-2 lead into the 7th inning.
That’s when Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers imploded. The Cardinals got two runs in and loaded the bases when Matt Carpenter came up to bat. Matt Carpenter smacked a double, driving all three runs home and giving the Cardinals a 7-6 lead.
