Jon Lester has Massachusetts home up for sale

The Oakland Athletics went all in this year, convincing the Boston Red Sox to trade their ace and 2013 postseason hero, Jon Lester in exchange for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

More from Boston Red Sox

Jon Lester’s A’s were eliminated by the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night in what was almost assuredly Lester’s last game with the team.

There has been a lot of speculation that Jon Lester could be pursued by the Chicago Cubs and former Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein while many believe the Red Sox will give Jon Lester a big deal to return to Boston.

Jon Lester, however, has put his home in Newton, Massachusetts on the market.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Lester is ruling out a return. If he does wind up back in Boston, he may simply want to live somewhere else. It’s also possible that he may want to rent a home in whatever city he winds up in because he recently bought a mansion in Atlanta that he plans on living in during the offseason.

After being traded to Oakland, Jon Lester went 6-4 with a 2.35 ERA.
