Boston Bruins place Jordan Caron and two others on waivers
The Boston Bruins have placed Jordan Caron and two other players on waivers
Boston fans went nuts this summer when the team re-signed restricted free agent Jordan Caron before Torey Krug or Reilly Smith.

While Krug was an All-Rookie team member and Smith scored 20 goals on the second line with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, Jordan Caron has yet to hit double digits with the team. His highest point season was in 2011-2012, when he scored 7 goals and contributed with 8 assists. Not exactly spectacular for a first-round pick.
Jordan Caron had signed to the league minimum, so it was assumed that he was being held onto while the team figured out what to do to escape cap hell. Now that Krug and Smith have been re-signed, the team needs to address the players they don’t need- or, it seems, want.
Jordan Caron could find a happy home elsewhere. He may not have succeeded with the Boston Bruins’s high-caliber roster, but he could make a nice third or fourth line addition elsewhere. He might also need a change of pace- after two unsuccessful seasons as a first-round pick, it’s entirely likely that Jorda Caron simply needs to start over somewhere fresh.
In addition to Jordan Caron, the team has placed forward Craig Cunningham and defenseman Dave Warsofsky on waivers. Cunningham wasn’t likely to make the team in the first place, but Warsofsky seems to be headed out simply due to the bottleneck in his position. I maybe talked about this earlier in the week:
It’s likely that Warsofsky, like Jordan Caron, will be able to find a home elsewhere.
