Connor McDavid is Don Cherry?

  • As a hockey fan, I’m all down for the theatrics. We’ve all seen this before- remember when we were gifted with Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Sidney Crosby, and Alex Ovechkin in rapid succession? Fans love to see the players trying to outbid one another as the league’s new darling.

In skill, they’ve been amping it up. Nothing like a little friendly competition to inspire up-and-coming players to fire off spectacular shot after spectacular shot- with both the NCAA season and the OHL season kicking off, we’ve already been seeing impressive numbers out of both players. Eichel had five assists in a 12-1 win for Boston University over St. Thomas, while McDavid has already hit 12 points in 4 games with the Erie Otters.

It seems that McDavid is trying to win over the fans with more than just his impressive skills, though. Take a look at what he changed into after the Otters’ win Saturday night-

I grew up a Boston Bruins fan, so I love Don Cherry. Everything about him is awesome, including the Bruins tie he wore to commentate during the Bruins-Habs post-season series this spring.

That being said… Connor McDavid, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING.
