Kobe Bryant is a superstar in the NBA, even at his age, but like so many greats before him will the Los Angeles Lakers trade their iconic player to save money?
The Los Angeles Lakes aren’t projected to win much this season but you can never count out unforeseen surprises that may occur.

One of the most insane things that could happen would be the Lakers shopping or trading Kobe Bryant in the second year of his ridiculous $40 million contract. It’s a seemingly ridiculous notion, but if people can talk about Tom Brady being traded and not feel like morons, then certainly Kobe Bryant is fair game.
According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, it’s not a realistic game though.
.@morgwon: you think Kobe gets traded at in the 2nd year of contract to a contender? ---> No, neither party interested in that.

Trading Kobe would net a decent return, but not many teams are going to give up their future to acquire a guy who would have little to no incentive to continue playing anywhere outside of Los Angeles. It would be cool to see Kobe get shipped to the Knicks and reunite with Phil Jackson, or finish his career chasing Michael Jordan in Chicago.
Let’s leave those scenarios where they belong though, in the fantasy land of NBA2K15.
