The Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos squared off on Sunday and the Cardinals couldn’t slow down Peyton Manning and his potent aerial attack.
There was a questionable play in the game when Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell was injured on an illegal chop block against the Broncos. Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians wasn’t too thrilled with the play.
“That was the dirtiest play I’ve seen in 37 years,” Arians said, via Pro Football Talk.
That is a pretty serious accusation. It is also a very serious play and Campbell was fortunate to not be hurt worse than he was. Campbell got a sprained MCL in the play and will miss a few weeks as he recovers.
If you missed the play, you can watch it below and judge for yourself.
The play did negate a 77-yard touchdown pass from Manning to Demaryius Thomas when the play was flagged. At least it wasn’t a play that went unnoticed by officials, a huge touchdown like that would’ve really been some salt on the wounds.
