Los Angeles Angels starter C.J. Wilson pulled in first-inning of Game 3
By Josh Hill
Los Angeles Angels starter C.J. Wilson went out in Game 3 against the Royals to try and get his team a much needed win. He didn’t even finish the inning.
C.J. Wilson was supposed to give the Angels a much needed boost to get Los Angeles a game in their playoff series against the Kansas City Royals. What was supposed to happen and what really happened couldn’t have been more different.

In an elimination game, the Royals shelled Wilson in the first inning and chased him before he could even get a full three-thirds of the way through. After loading up the bases with two outs in the first, Wilson surrendered a bases clearing triple to Alex Gordon to give the Royals a 3-1 lead.
What made this even more painful was the fact that the Angels got off to such a hot start with a mike Trout home run in the top half of the inning.
But from there, Wilson was shelled and the game was turned over to the bullpen before the first inning was even over. Los Angeles has a pretty solid bullpen though, so it’s not like the Detroit Tigers going to their bullpen in the first — they’d be better off forfeiting in that case.
What this means though is that the Royals chances of winning their first ever trip to the ALDS could see them meet the Baltimore Orioles with a trip to the World Series on the line. That would mean either the Royals or Orioles would be in the World Series — which is fantastic for baseball.
