The Phoenix Suns poached Isaiah Thomas this summer in a sign-and-trade with the Sacramento Kings, but his former teammates aren’t that sad to see him go.

DeMarcus Cousins is a player that the Sacramento Kings need to step up this season and become the leader he’s been trying to be for years. But part of leading is standing up for your team, which is what Cousins has done in responding to Isaiah Thomas trolling the team this offseason.

Cousins was asked about the new additions to the Kings roster, which included new guards in place of Thomas, and his response was laced with venom.

As pointed out by Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee, Cousins took an indirect shot at Thomas that may have been more direct than he intended.

"“It’s been incredible, it’s been incredible,” Cousins said. “It’s been a smooth transition. The ball is moving a lot better. It’s not stuck in one place. It’s not being overdribbled by anybody on the floor.”I’m sure a certain guard in Phoenix will read that quote with great interest."

To be fair, Thomas was taking shots on his way out the door in Sacramento, so it’s not hard to imagine there are hurt feelings in this situation.
